I'm a forty-something daughter, wife, mom and aunt that loves the vastness of the internet and
I have always written -- poetry, short stories, newsletters, articles and the like. I grew up as a military brat living all over the US and even on the tiny Pacific island of Guam for a time. For me, writing was therapeutic. It helped me through the difficulties of moving so much, constantly being thrown into new and different surroundings. I learned a lot about myself through my writing.
But I have multiple degrees from the University of Life. For the majority of my adult life, I have been a business owner. Sometimes successful, sometimes not. However, I have always learned. To me, that's the key. I didn't finish my degree in English though I wish I had and still may, someday. Like I tell my kids, "Anything is possible."
I love research (weird, I know) and can be like a dog with a bone when I find a topic of interest. Computers have always intrigued me since I was around before they were staple items in most homes. The internet intrigued me that much more as it evolved.
As a business owner, I felt from the beginning, the internet was going to one day be the end-all-be-all when it came to finding information of any kind. I jumped in with both feet and have never looked back!
I digest and interpret the information floating out there and apply it to my own websites and writing. Sometimes is works, sometimes it doesn't. Search engine algorithms are fickle beasts that are constantly changing. Trying to keep up is the best that we can do.
If you write or want to write online, whether for fun or to make an income, come along for the ride in my own never ending story (with a few of my friends). The trip will include tried and true methods, possibilities and lots of speculation but it will be fun!
